Funeral Mass for Boyd Kelley, 69, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate the Mass. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at the church.)
Mr. Kelley passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
Born July 17, 1946, in Grantsville, W.Va., he had been a Lake County resident for 38 years, living in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and member of the Mentor Senior Center and St. Bede the Venerable Church, where he served as an usher at 10 a.m. Sunday Mass. Boyd enjoyed fishing and wood carving at Mentor Senior Center.
He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Bernice M. (nee Kuhn) Kelley; loving father of Tricia McHugh and Corren Kelley; cherished grandfather of Maranda, Kelsey, Kelley and Jasmine; brother of Louise Kelley and Sonny Kelley; brother-in-law of Shirley Burgett, Ruth Kuhar, Marie (Al) Sluga, Jerry Adams and Lynn Kuhn; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Bonnie (nee Eagle) Kelley; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Pillar and Pat Adams; and brothers-in-law, Frank Kuhn, George Pillar and James Burgett.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
