Susan Elizabeth  Shapiro
Funeral Mass for Susan Elizabeth Shapiro, 59, of Richmond Heights, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Robert and William Church, 267 E. 260th St., Euclid.
Mrs. Shapiro passed away Aug. 19, 2016, at her residence.
Born Dec. 24, 1956, in Cleveland, she had been a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga County.
Susan was a longtime member of the Irish American Club-East Side Inc., adored her grandkids and was devoted to her Catholic faith.
She was the mother of James R. (Julia) Vargo of Hudson and Jessica E. (Jeremy) Forsythe of Wickliffe; grandmother of Connor, Mackenzie, Anthony and Elijah; sister of Barbara (Jay) Guthrie, Richard (Renee) Rhein and Jimmy (Peggy) Rhein; sister-in-law of Holly Rhein and Laura Zweig; beloved daughter-in-law of Sylvia Shapiro; and aunt and great-aunt of many.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard S. Shapiro; parents, Richard Francis and June Leona (nee Booth) Rhein; brothers, Christopher and John Rhein; and father-in-law, Lloyd Shapiro.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to the UH Seidman Cancer Center, 9485 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
