Obituary for Frances "Danni" Harvey

Frances "Danni" Harvey
Frances “Danni” Harvey, 64, passed away Sept. 8, 2016.
She is survived by her sons, Danal Harvey (Jessica Guerrieri) and Keith Harvey (Carrie); grandchildren, Amber and Travis Harvey; sister, Jeannette Palsa (John); her faithful canine sidekick, Harley; beloved horses, Cruiser and Cricket; along with many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Dean and Nellie (Barnes) Givens; and her son, Christopher Harvey.
Danni began raising horses at the age of 11 with her first mare, Lady and started showing her at local shows and the Lake County fair. She continued to show horses throughout her teenage and young adult years and passed along this love to her children, teaching them to ride at young ages. As her children grew, Danni became a 4-H advisor and coached her children to show. She became a consummate horse and rider trainer and the best horse groom around.
Danni moved to a farm in Jefferson over 20 years ago, where she raised Cruiser and Cricket and served as an invaluable part of the community on the farm. Danni also was very passionate about flower horticulture. As a member of the Ashtabula, Geauga and Lake County Agricultural Societies, Danni took home many blue ribbons and awards for her beautiful blooms. In the past few years, she had become a budding creative photographer, recording her life on the farm with beautiful still-life and landscapes photos. She also began to recently attend master gardener and flower craft classes. She will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of her life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, where prayers and a celebration will be conducted at 6:15 p.m. Private family interment will be in Kirtland South Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please support the continued care of Danni’s beloved horses through the Cruiser and Cricket Care Fund. www.gofundme.com/cruiserandcricket.
