Obituary for D. Jayne Crawford

Memorial services for D. Jayne Crawford, 96, of Willoughby, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in the Chapel at Breckenridge Village, 36855 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Jayne died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017, at Breckenridge Village Nursing Center, in Willoughby.
Jayne was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Cleveland to E. Lester and Florence Crawford.
She graduated from Shaw High School in 1938, and then attended secretarial school. She worked for General Electric and Case Institute of Technology before moving to Washington D.C. in 1964, to work for the Board of the United Methodist Church. She retired in 1985, and moved back “home” to Breckenridge.
Jayne loved to travel and was a tour host for Educational Opportunities. She enjoyed many trips to Switzerland (her favorite), the British Isles, Australia, New Zealand and countless cities in the U.S. She was a member of P.E.O., Burrough’s Nature Club, the Willoughby Women’s Club and 1st United Presbyterian Church in East Cleveland, where she sang in the choir.
Jayne is survived by her niece, Christie Savage (Jim) of Cincinnati and Ruth Nellis of Butler, Pa.; great-niece, Christa Nellis; and great-nephew, Mark Nellis. She had many friends all over the country and will be greatly missed.
Jayne was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Ohio Living Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Rd., Willoughby, OH 44094.
