Funeral Mass for Gene A. “Gino” Virgili, 78, of Mentor, will be 12 noon Friday, Feb. 3, at St. Gabriel Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mr. Virgili passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at his winter residence in Ft. Meyers, Fla.
Born Feb. 11, 1938, in Mather, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for more than 50 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Mentor.
Gino loved and enjoyed golf and was a proud member of the Pepperoni Club. The most important part of his life was his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Virgili retired from Caterpillar, where he had been a longtime employee, and had also worked at Lake Business Products.
He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Anna Marie (nee Tekely) Virgili; loving father of Catherine A. (Mark) Potter, Thomas E. (Elvi) Virgili and Gina M. (James) Fiorello; cherished grandfather of Andrew, Taylor, Jacob and Kelsey; brother of Robert (Judith) Virgili and John Virgili; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Gino was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Ida Mae (nee Arnfeld) Virgili; and siblings, Vito Virgili, Ernest Virgili, Isadore Virgili, Rose Kensek Orlando Virgili, Ida Mae Lacinic, George Virgili and Franklin Virgili.
Family will receive friends following the Mass. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
